OpenTV has extended the licensing of its AdVision system to Comcast Spotlight, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable.

Currently deployed in several Comcast Spotlight markets, OpenTV AdVision is used to manage the local insertion of adverts and facilitates traffic, scheduling and billing functions.

“Well-designed traffic systems are a key component to successfully managing inventory and executing orders for our clients,” said Paul Woidke, Comcast Spotlight’s vice president of technology. “Our confidence in AdVision is demonstrated by our commitment to use their software in additional markets.”

AdVision is a product of ACTV, an interactive television company previously acquired by OpenTV.
