Top Up TV, which provides additional subscription services on digital terrestrial television in the UK, has announced further details of a new service with a digital video recorder, allowing recording of programmes that are downloaded overnight as well as standard Freeview channels.

The new subscription service will be available using a Thomson set-top box digital video recorder, offering access to an additional 18 virtual channels.

TopUp TV Anytime.

There will be over 90 hours of programmes a week, updated daily, with certain channels being updated on different days. In addition there is disk space for around 20 hours of other programming to be recorded.

The Top Up TV Anytime box will cost £209.99 including the first month of viewing, with an ongoing subscription of &pound9.99 a month. For a limited period, existing Top Up TV customers will be able to order the set-top box for £75 if they take out a 12 month contract.

The existing channel lineup is changing in preparation for the new service, which is expected to launch in the autumn.

Top Up TV was founded in 2003 by television executives David Chance and Ian West to offer subscription services to complement Freeview channels.
