Chellomedia has announced a partnership with London playout provider Ascent to offer cost-effective delivery of interactive services to satellite and cable television networks in the UK.

Chellomedia interactive services will provide its Chello Mistral system at the central London playout facilities of Ascent Media Network Services Europe.

“We want to make it easy and affordable for channels of any size to deploy iTV and empower them to focus on creative and commercial opportunities,” said Noel Leslie of Chellomedia.

“We’re delighted to work in conjunction with Chellomedia interactive services to help roll out services to UK broadcasters,” added Bob Gentry of Ascent. “iTV is a hot topic at the moment as broadcasters are continually looking for ways to strengthen relationships with their audience – it’s great to be involved at the forefront of these developments.”

Ascent Media Network Services Europe is part of the Ascent Media Group, a Liberty Media company based in Santa Monica, with over 70 facilities around the world. Chellomedia is a division of separately traded Liberty Global, which has interests in broadband distribution companies, including UPC Broadband in Europe.
