SysMedia has announced the latest version of its Plasma content management and production platform for interactive TV, teletext, web and mobile services.
The UK company specialises in technology for creating television text and information services.
The new Plasma XM system features a web browser-based user interface for content management. The system is also fully Unicode compliant, supporting the full range of international character sets.
Support for MHP compatible interactive television applications is provided using the JAME framework, licensed from the Fraunhofer Institute, with provision for switching audio and video streams.
The current release provides support for OpenTV, MHP, OCAP/ACAP, MHEG-5, and teletext, together with XML for web and mobile and platforms.
Plasma XM will be demonstrated at the IBC exhibition in September.
