YooMedia, the UK interactive television and mobile entertainment company, has appointed two new influential directors to the board of iPublic, its public services division.
Margaret McDonagh, former general secretary of the Labour Party, will be chairwoman of the board. Lord Alli of Norbury joins as a non-executive director. Waheed Alli was co-founder of TV production company Planet 24 and was appointed a Labour life peer in 1998.
Chief executive of iPublic, David Docherty said: “It is a tremendous boost to our ambitions in the public sector to attract non-executives of this calibre. It shows how serious we are about the opportunities to use interactive television imaginatively as a valuable tool to deliver public services.”
iPublic plans to use YooMedia’s experience in interactive television applications and portals together with mobile technology to create community-based public services.
