Interactive television software and services company Ensequence has appointed a former Hollywood television executive as its president in order to extend its relationship with the programming and advertising sectors.

Gary Marenzi, a former president of Paramount International Television and the MGM Telecommunications Group, will represent Ensequence within the entertainment and advertising communities, reporting to Dalen Harrison, who remains chief executive.

The former Hollywood studio executive will be based in Los Angeles. He was previously responsible for international distribution of programming for major studios and serves on the broad of the National Association of Television Program Executives.

“The global creative community is embracing interactivity as a key element in each new entertainment production,” he remarked on his appointment. “Viewers are coming to expect interactive content on every imaginable delivery platform in addition to traditional television, which represents an incredible opportunity for Ensequence and the programmers, advertisers and operators that we serve.”

“I’m excited to join the team,” he continued, “as Ensequence is well positioned to become the worldwide standard for interactive television programming and advertising across cable, satellite, broadband, mobile and IPTV.”

Ensequence was originally formed out of an interactive television initiative at Intel and has been gaining traction as specialist software supplier, providing tools that enable visual authoring of interactive television applications.
