Recreate Solutions, the UK based technology outsourcing company, has established an offshore facility for testing Open TV applications for the Sky platform.
The facility is based in Mumbai, India, covering 44 models of set-top box, and will be used to provide testing for applications to be launched on the BSkyB platform in the UK.
The offshore service will significantly lower the cost of testing, which represents a significant element of total application development time and cost.
Bhaskar Majumdar, chief executive of Recreate, said that this was in line with their provision of offshore facilities to lower the cost of launching interactive services.
Recreate plans to increase the coverage of platforms to other carriers, and is talks with operators in the United States to replicate their test facilities in India.
