EchoStar has named three interactive TV content and software developers as ITV Providers of the Year for the Dish Network satellite television service in the United States.
The company singled out OpenTV, Pixel and Buzztime for recognition from among more than a hundred current and prospective providers and developers.
OpenTV received the Developer of the Year Award. As well as providing the software platform for a majority of Dish Network satellite receivers, OpenTV also delivered a number of interactive software applications over the year.
Pixel Technologies, which produces cross-platform game services, received the Game Developer of the Year Award for the second year running for the KidsWise interactive TV channel for young children.
Buzztime, a subsidiary of NTN Communications, received the Marketing Award for its trivia and play-along sports games.
