BSkyB has signed a deal with a leading puzzle magazine publisher to provide a selection of pay-to-play puzzles for its new-look Sky Active portal.
The agreement with Puzzler Media, the UK’s leading puzzle publisher, will provide a selection of wordsearch puzzles updated daily, with crossword and other word puzzles to follow. The service will also feature regular competitions.
Will Harding, of Sky Interactive said: “Games and puzzles have proven to be amongst the most effective drivers of usage and revenue in interactive television.”
In addition to magazine publishing, Puzzler provides content to other newspapers and magazines, as well as the NTL and Homechoice TV services.
“Launching with Sky Active is the most important development of our interactive strategy,” said Mel Lewis, managing director of Puzzler Media. “We are convinced by the huge potential this opportunity offers. Our thirty year experience of puzzle creation will enable us to make the Puzzler iTV service the very best of its type.”
