Interactive television company OpenTV has announced the appointment of another cable industry figure, this time to head up marketing and the applications business.

Tim Evard has been appointed to the newly created position of senior vice president and general manager for marketing and applications products. He was most recently president and chief executive for Broadband iTV, an interactive television company. In the past he served as president and co-founder of the Time Warner Road Runner high-speed cable data business and as senior vice president of marketing for Time Warner Cable.

Welcoming him to the company, chief executive James Chiddix said “His broad cable industry background, expertise and vision will help us immensely in further developing and realizing the full value of our applications”.

Jim Chiddix himself joined OpenTV from Time Warner and recently appointed another Time Warner man to head up strategy for the company.
