Participation television or PTV, may include use of the interactive return path but may also involve any combination of telephony, SMS text, web or email for applications such voting, competitions, games and chat.
Such services are available to viewers irrespective of any particular platform and in the case of premium rate telephony and SMS text provide an inbuilt billing system and therefore revenue generating opportunities.
