Eagle Broadband is teaming up with GlobeCast to launch a turnkey IPTV solution that it claims will enable broadband providers to deploy services within two months at a fraction of the cost of current approaches.

IPTVComplete will provide a package of standard, premium and high-definition television programming with over 200 channels, together with video-on-demand, pay-per-view and digital music services with full multicast rights for distribution over data networks in America.

It is claimed that the solution can reduce the time to market to launch an IPTV service to under two months and save at least a million dollars in up-front capital expenditure.

“Today’s launch of IPTVComplete provides incumbent and new broadband providers with the fastest, lowest cost way to begin delivering high quality IPTV services to their subscribers,” said Dave Weisman, chairman and chief executive of Eagle Broadband.

Combining the experience of Eagle Broadband with satellite services provider GlobeCast, a subsidiary of France Telecom, IPTVComplete provides a feed that is ready for distribution over existing broadband networks. Satellite distribution allows a fully-featured broadband video head-end to be installed anywhere in the United States.

Broadband providers can choose the services they require from a menu of options and then pay a monthly fee and per subscriber fee that reduces the up-front capital costs involved.

“IPTVComplete offers several key components of the value chain, including content, transport and customer premises equipment,” commented Matt Davis, director of broadband access technologies at research firm Yankee Group. “Service providers seeking entry into the IPTV market will find this combination can substantially reduce the time and cost it takes to get up and running.”
