IDway, a digital television software provider based in Paris, has licensed its IDway-MHP software to Korean set-top box manufacturer Humax.
The deal will enable Humax to implement the MHP compliant middleware, addressing markets such as Italy, where state subsidies for compatible digital terrestrial television set-top boxes have helped promote the market for the DVB standard Multimedia Home Platform.
“As one of the fastest growing set-top box manufacturers, Humax will help us strengthen our market presence and reach,” said Gerard Pazuelo, the chief executive of IDway.
Humax exports to more than 90 countries and plans to reach revenues of $1 billion by 2006.
