Marking Valentine’s Day, Comcast is rolling out video personal ads to video-on-demand customers nationally.

The service has been available for six months in Philadelphia, where Comcast is based, and the video personal profiles have received over a million views, making them one of the most popular elements of Comcast’s On Demand service.

From February 14 the service will feature singles from the Philadelphia and Chicago areas, extending to other selected markets later in the spring.

“Video on demand is changing the way people watch television, and now it’s changing the way to meet people,” said Page Thompson, who is responsible for the On Demand service at Comcast.

To view Dating on Demand profiles, Comcast digital cable customers with video-on-demand services can select the service from the On Demand menu, and select Dating on Demand from the Lifestyle category. Users can contact prospective dates through a special email account and can submit their own profile on videotape or attend a local recording event.
