Global pay television revenue peaked at $205 billion in 2016. Digital TV Research forecasts that it will fall by 11% to $183 billion in 2023, despite the number of subscribers rising by 9%. Revenue in North American will fall by $22 billion between 2017 and 2023. So will people end up paying less for television and video services, or will revenue shift to the cost of connectivity and services delivered direct to the consumer?
