Next month I’ll be chairing a one-day summit on Multimedia Home Gateways at the British Film Institute on the South Bank in London. For many years, the so-called set-top box has been central to the pay-television proposition, although it’s many years since it’s actually sat on top of the display and many of us have more than one such box. Now a new model is emerging, enabled by new digital networks and based around a multimedia home gateway to the digital home. The question is who will hold the key to this digital gateway. Join me at the CSI Multimedia Home Gateways summit on 3 November to find out. Further details are available in the events section on informitv.com.
