Nominations are still open for the International Interactive TV Awards to be presented at the annual Interactive TV Show Europe which will take place in Barcelona at the end of October. The ITV Awards are organised by AFDESI, the French Association for Interactive Television.
The International ITV Awards are open to all companies, operators, broadcasters, developers or publishers who are involved in the production of a concept or were involved in a live interactive television service in the year to June 2007. This includes all formats of television interactivity, including through the remote control or fixed or mobile phone. The deadline for submissions has been extended to 15 September 2007.
The awards are presented by AFDESI, a non-profit organisation based in France which serves to promote the interactive TV industry on satellite, cable, terrestrial and broadband.
Awards will be presented for best set-top box interactive television application; mobile interactive television application; innovation and technology; design and graphics; advertising, commerce and services; entertainment and games; betting and gambling; and news and information. There will be an award for the service or programme of the year, and a special prize to the company or person which contributed to the development of ITV in 2007.
The awards ceremony will be held during the annual Interactive TV Show Europe in Spain. The ITV Show Europe is a regular fixture in the conference calendar. This year it will take place at the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos in Barcelona at the end of October.
