Mediacast, the former European cable and satellite show, now branded under the banner of the ‘content everywhere’ generation, has reported the highest ever response to the call for papers for the associated convergence conference.
The news follows the publication of a ‘Mediacast Manifesto’ with a fresh focus on the key issues driving the digital media industry. The exhibition and conference in May is also moving from its former venue in London’s docklands to the Olympia exhibition centre.
“Mediacast has changed with the industry, migrating from a cable and satellite show to a multiplatform business and technology event for the ‘content everywhere’ generation,” explained exhibition director Amanda Strange.
“The new era of content delivery and expenditure in the next 10 years will be unlike anything we have seen before,” she added. “The need to move, manage, secure and monetize television and on-demand video services has moved beyond getting TV channels to screens in our living rooms.”
Focused on the business and technology of content delivery, the European exhibition will preview the new technologies, consumer devices and interactive solutions that are driving the business of management, delivery and protection of video and on-demand content.
Areas covered will include digital satellite, terrestrial, cable and telco television, mobile video and high definition services. Beyond the exhibition floor, the conference will address industry debates that will drive the digital on-demand future.
As an official media partner, informitv will be carrying exclusive previews and coverage of the event.
