WheelsTV, which produces a US television network devoted to cars, has announced a video-on-demand Top 200 showcase that will provide a virtual car showroom.
The Top 200 service will be available to cable and broadband network operators as a video-on-demand showcase.
Viewers will be able to view video of two hundred vehicles, with detailed data on each model, together with an editorially impartial commentary. WheelsTV recently signed a deal with Edmunds.com to provide data for the service.
The company says service operators can use it to support advertising and with the roll-out of interactive television even provide leads directly to their advertisers.
Jim Barisano, chairman of Massachusetts based Wheels TV said “Top 200 is the next giant step in the car shopping experience. Whether through VOD, DVRs or broadband, consumers will be able to gather key vehicle information, and narrow their search for a new set of wheels.”
