Making the Cut, a Canadian hockey docudrama, is being enhanced with interactive elements available to Bell ExpressVu subscribers.

The series, which follows the fortunes of unsigned hockey players from across the country, is the first foray into synchronised interactive television and text voting for the Canadian digital television company.

Bell ExpressVu satellite viewers can use their remote to participate in programme polls. The results will be compiled from interactive television, text messages and online votes and presented on-screen during each episode.

More than 800,000 Bell ExpressVu customers with iTV-ready receivers will be able to view additional information including player profiles and coaches’ notes.

The interactive service makes use of several GoldPocket tools and technologies, including the StoryTeller authoring tool and the InFuse system used to synchronise data programme playout.
