June already. The last few months have certainly been extraordinary. There has been a rise in television viewing in the United Kingdom, albeit back to the level of five years ago. The apparent increase in online video viewing has been more marked. Television viewing unattributed to channels measured by BARB was recently up by 90% to 85 minutes a day. Netflix is now available in an estimated 46% of households in the country. Disney+ seems to off to a strong start, accounting for half of all new online video subscriptions in the first quarter in the United Kingdom, according to Kantar Research. In the United States, Parks Associates puts adoption of Disney+ at 25% after six months, based on a survey of broadband households.
