Next month sees the first international conference on designing interactive user experiences for television and video. The uxTV 2008 conference will be hosted by Microsoft in Mountain View, California and will bring together leading international experts in the field. I’ve been invited to speak about The Interactive Television Experience So Far, drawing on the extensive experience of interactive television in the United Kingdom that can be traced back over three decades to the first teletext services. There’s still some way to go in designing genuinely intuitive interactive television interfaces, but the blending of broadband and broadcast services offers new opportunities. I look forward to seeing many informitv readers at the event and reporting back on the latest developments.
