The Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival takes place later this week, offering introspective insights from the controllers, commissioners and creators of British television. This year Elisabeth Murdoch will give the annual MacTaggart memorial keynote address, the third member of her family to do so, but only the fourth woman to have the honour since it started in 1976. Deloitte will be releasing its sixth annual survey of the state of television. We’ll have a report online but there’ll be no newsletter next Monday as it’s my birthday and also a national holiday in England, coincidentally.
