This week I’ll be opening the Streaming Media Europe conference in London with a keynote on The Online Video Experience — Viewing into the Future. I look forward to seeing many of you there and at the associated free exhibition. When informitv was founded five years ago, YouTube did not exist. Now it’s delivering over a billion online video views a day and striking deals with broadcasters. Meanwhile over half a million football fans paid to watch exclusive live coverage of the England game online. Most of them will have been watching on a computer screen, but the real deal will come when they can watch online on their television. That’s already possible but it’s not yet prevalent. That could change in the next five years.
