There’s been a tendency to think of the mobile or tablet as the second screen, considering it as a viewing companion to the main screen, which is assumed to be the television. Yet for many people their primary and most personal relationship is with their preferred touch screen device. It may be the first screen they see when they wake up and the first screen they look at when they want to keep in touch with what’s going on in the world. In fact, the screen in your hand might be viewed as a foreground screen, while the television could be seen as a background display.
