The informitv Multiscreen Index shows a net loss of 2.36 million satellite television subscribers in the United States in 2018, or 7.5% of their base. The rate of losses is increasing. In the last quarter of the year, the two leading satellite services lost 784,000 subscribers between them. Meanwhile, Nielsen data show the number of homes with over the air terrestrial television has been rising steadily, to around 16 million homes, with nearly 60% of them also subscribing to an online video service.
