All the signs are there that broadband delivered digital media will only really succeed in an open market based on open standards. The walled gardens currently carefully cultivated by specific service providers, distributors and broadcasters will be ultimately unable to compete with the broader offering of a global network of programming producers. What is required is the audio-visual equivalent of the world wide web, and the open standards on which it is based, to catalyze the creation of an open market for producers, distributors and consumers. We are working with a number of parties to provide such a platform. If you would like to be involved, please let me know.
