Netflix announced its online service ten years ago today. The BBC was awaiting the go-ahead for its iPlayer project. The potential for online video was already apparent. Google had acquired YouTube for $1.65 billion and strangely named start-ups like Joost and Babelgum were revealing their plans. Much has changed in ten years. Online video is now mainstream but many people still watch a lot of traditional television. Where will we be in another ten years?
