With less than two weeks to go until the opening of the London 2012 Olympic Games, the city is making final preparations to be the centre of world media attention. While some have been working towards this for years, there’s now a general sense of nervous anticipation. What could possibly go wrong? Here in Britain, the BBC will have unprecedented depth of coverage, with up to 24 video streams providing over 2,500 hours of live action on computer, mobile, tablet and of course television screens. There will be 3D coverage of the opening and closing ceremony and trial screenings in ultra high-definition. It promises to be the most comprehensively covered Olympics ever. Best wishes to all those involved.
