The apparent decline of pay television is often overstated. Even where pay-television services are reaching saturation, broadband is still a growth business. The challenge for television service providers is to extend their legacy operations into the network connected world. Many are responding by offering more flexible ways of watching. It seems to be working. The latest data from the informitv Multiscreen Index show that the 100 leading services in the index increased their television subscriber numbers by about 1% in the third quarter.
