The future of video is mobile and the future of mobile is video, apparently. At least that’s partly the logic used to justify the $85 billion acquisition of Time Warner by AT&T. Some may recall the last mega-merger involving Time Warner didn’t go so well. This week I’m at the SMPTE annual technical conference in Hollywood, where the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers is celebrating its centenary.
