The BBC is planning to increase the focus on its iPlayer as it faces an increasingly competitive online video market. Having been given permission to expand the service, Lord Hall, the director general of the BBC, is promising a complete reinvention of iPlayer, which he calls “a new front door for British creativity”. Charlotte Moore, the director of content at the BBC, describes it as a total television experience that will be the gateway to all its programmes.
