This informitv update comes from Geneva, home of international standards. With an increasing focus on converged broadcast and broadband systems, it is unfortunate that, even in technologically advanced Switzerland, my recent experiences with hotel television and internet services should have been so poor. For many people, some hotel television systems may be their first real experience of internet protocol television services, even if they do not realise it, although they may well have been unimpressed. For some reason, these hospitality television systems generally have user hostile interfaces that are more concerned with promoting premium services, relegating regular television channels and radio stations to a subordinate role. Then again, that could be an uncomfortable view of the future of broadcasting.
