I’m looking forward to IBC in Amsterdam, which starts later this week. 4K, Ultra HD, or UHDTV, whatever you call it, is likely to be a hot topic at the show. I’ll be chairing The Great Quality Debate, asking the question: ‘Do we really need to go beyond HD?’ The resolution of this debate is not only about the number of pixels, but also frame rate, colour depth and audio channels. Come along and join the debate in the Forum at the RAI centre at 11.00 on Saturday. Statements from the floor for or against the motion are welcome and there will be a vote at the end to see whether we are really ready for the next step change in television quality.
