Over half of the 1.4 billion television homes in the world receive a digital signal, including eight out of ten homes in developed countries but only four out of ten in developing economies. There are apparently 6.8 billion cellular mobile phone subscriptions worldwide and 3.5 billion of them are in the Asia Pacific region. There are estimated to be over 2 billion active mobile broadband subscriptions, and over half of them are in developing economies. Television may seem ubiquitous, but it may not be the main screen for many people around the world.
