French broadcasters are banding together to deliver Salto, a joint venture platform that has now received regulatory approval. Television has always been an aggregated experience, in which channels and programmes compete for attention. Closer collaboration between broadcasters may be necessary to deliver a compelling connected platform proposition to compete more effectively with other online services.
