For over a decade we have been informing our readers, presenting at conferences and advising clients about how the internet will disrupt television. We started this before there were smart phones, tablets or connected televisions, when online video was only really beginning to emerge. Gradually we have seen the introduction of new products and services that are starting to change the way we view programmes. We are now seeing an acceleration of innovation, as the world of broadcast embraces broadband and begins to move at web speed. With the benefit of hindsight, we have long seen this coming.
