This week marks the 15th anniversary of the launch of informitv at NAB. The premise was the promise of broadcast broadband convergence. At the time there was no YouTube, no iPhone, no iPlayer, and Netflix was just delivering discs. Although the potential was clear, online video was still in its infancy. Now in its teens and growing quickly, it is experiencing a challenging relationship with its media and telco parents.
