ARIB
Standard for interactive television in Japan.
ARIB is the Association of Radio Industries and Businesses in Japan and is a standards development body for telecommunications and broadcasting.
ARIB initially adopted BML, or Broadcast XML, an XML-based format that includes XHTML, CSS and ECMA Script, with specific extensions for interactive television applications.
ARIB B23 adds support for GEM or Globally Executable MHP, a subset of the specification for DVB MHP. Existing ARIB data broadcasting specifications are employed, including the data carousel system.
