Zip TV licence for interactive advertising channel
Zip TV, the interactive TV company that represents a consortium of leading advertisers in the UK, has obtained a licence for a permanent television channel on the Sky satellite platform.
The licence from regulator Ofcom would potentially allow Zip TV to provide an advertising presence directly accessible as a channel number, rather than only through interactive adverts.
Plans are still apparently at an early stage and the company says it is still looking at the opportunities provided by a permanent presence.
